I was at a used car dealership today, helping out a very good lady friend of mine choosing her next ride. It’s hard for her to decide what to buy, when the number of cars she has ever got a proper impression of can be counted on two hands, and the ones she drove don’t even fill one. So she’s choosing by color, which is fine by me, as long as it’s a 9yo Mazda 6 wagon, and not a 11yo BMW 3 series Touring.

Also, there was a nice BMW 520i on this lot. E34 late model with AC, air bags, and most likely ABS too. I don’t think I ever sat in an E34, which is strange as I have tried almost all of the other 5 series generations. And you know what? I felt at home instantly. So now I need a nice E34 in my life, and this might even fit in the program i have for 2016....

Anyway, now back to our usual programming of left-field RWD sedans. Here’s a Granada 2-door, for your... misery.

I like Granadas. The John Player Special has Grand front brakes and a five speed from a Taunus in fact.

Yeah well its not like im breaking the bank, no. Its just that im planning a major overhaul of the fleet during the next year, so i do forsee a moment in my 2016 when i will have some money in my hand and a place in my “garage”..... Heres hoping a good e34 comes my way at the right moment!

Yeah, sure. I was just joking.

Also, in the US even a decent E34 is pretty cheap AFAIK. I think you’ll be able to find a very good one well below 5k.

I love the color, have nothing against longroofs and $3500 isn’t bad, if it’s a good engine-transmission combo with nothing much left to sort out.

However, I’m in Europe. So thanks, but no thanks, i’ll have to look much closer to home, most likely in Germany.
